Neuroscience Honey Tasting Activity
Tasting honey is as much an art as it is a science! As part of our educational activities program, participants and staff enjoyed a neuroscience honey tasting exercise that assesses visual, olfactory, gustatory, and texture experiences.
Each taste produced a unique neuroscience sensory experience, while expanding our perceptual knowledge of bees and honey! Our honey tasting menu included: Clover, Mesquite, Himalayan, Natural Litchi, Honey, Cinnamon Infused, Vanilla Infused, Lemon Infused and Turmeric Infused Honey.
We also learned that honey is a perfect source of energy that keeps our immunity strong. We celebrated with a final tasting of hot homemade southern biscuits drizzled with our favorite honey.

Gardening at Helping Hands
The gardening program at Helping Hands for Better Living offers participant gardeners a hands-on educational experience while providing therapeutic benefits.
Each spring, gardeners and staff navigate through the life cycle of the plants. Participants cultivate soil, plant seeds, nurture seedlings, and create a beautiful garden of mature herbs and vegetables that are ready for harvest day at the end of the summer.
Helping Hands' Gardening Program provides our participants with genuine joy and the opportunity to switch from being cared for to the role of being the caregiver. This unique and beautiful role reversal allows participants to nurture and tend to young plants as they watch them mature.
