National Snowman Day

Winter is alive and well! The Helping Hands for Better Living community celebrated National Snowman Day through a hands-on art project, while viewing and listening to The Snowman - the 1982 British animated television film and symphonic poem based on Raymond Briggs' 1978 picture book of the same name. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film and won a BAFTA TV Award.

Tasting honey is as much an art as it is a science! As part of our educational activities program, participants and staff enjoyed a neuroscience honey tasting exercise that assesses visual, olfactory, gustatory, and texture experiences.

Each taste produced a unique neuroscience sensory experience, while expanding our perceptual knowledge of bees and honey! We learned that honey is a perfect source of energy that keeps our immunity strong. We celebrated with a final tasting of hot homemade southern biscuits drizzled with our favorite
